"The selected printer does not allow the following attributes from your print job: #####"

  • The print job being sent is the wrong paper size. All of our printers only print Letter size papers.
    • The student will need to resend their print job with the correct paper size selected. We do not allow any other size and will not use any paper they provide.
  • Open the Adobe Acrobat Print settings
    • Click on the "Fit" option
    • Click on Page Setup in the bottom left to change the paper size.
      • Make sure Letter is selected and the print will go through.

New Comet Card

New Comet Cards can take up to 1 full business day to be active. If a user's card is not being recognized/no account is being found then most likely it is a new card or it is being swiped wrong.

  • Please tell the user they will need to print by signing into a lab machine or release through CometPrint.

Planned End Date

If a kiosk reads this error after a student swipes their Comet Card it usually means the Comet Card office has shut off the account due to graduation or a gap in enrollment.

Additional Printing Methods

Special Printing Grants

Some students will have special print grants they have access to. Currently this is for:

  • JSOM Students get a limited print grant every semester available in JSOM Labs only.
  • AHT has a quota for their TAs, RAs, Faculty and Staff.  They control this quota.
Note: Students cannot use these grants at other locations and will have to pay normal prices elsewhere.

Releasing Free Prints

In rare circumstances we do allow CA's to release print jobs for free. These jobs should only be black & white as well as limited to less than 5 pages. These circumstances may include but not limited to:

  • Time Sensitive documents such as government documents.
  • Issues with the Pharos system.
  • Issue with our own printers such as a paper jam or toner issue.

This should be done rarely and with personal judgement on the CA's part. We do NOT give free prints due to poor planning on the students part. Students can wait for money to appear on their account if they have none.
