Does Microsoft Copilot Store My Search History? 

  • As part of Microsoft's newest enhancement with the change to Enterprise Data Protection, Copilot for the web now has a menu to show your recent prompts and results. Microsoft does not have access to them or use them for training Copilot.

How Can I Summarize a Page, PDF or Document? 

If the file is local, use the following steps:

  • Go to the Microsoft Edge Browser
  • Navigate to copilot.cloud.microsoft.com (sign in, if you are not already) 
  • In the text entry field at the bottom, click on the Paperclip icon.
    • A new window will pop up for you to navigate to and select the file you wish to upload. 
  • Now you can ask Copilot questions about the file.


If the file is located on the web, use the following steps:

  • Click Ask Microsoft Copilot AI button on the top right in your Edge Browser
  • The Edge sidebar will appear on the right. 
  • In order for Copilot to evaluate the document you have open on the web, you must also provide the web address in your query .
    • Example: Summarize this report in 10 bullet points.  http://example.com/test.pdf
