Duo Mobile Accessibility Support for High-Contrast Colors

Introduction

To enhance accessibility and user experience, Duo Mobile now supports a dark theme on both Android and iOS platforms. Starting with version 3.29.0 on Android and 3.30.0 on iOS, users can enable high-contrast dark mode to improve visibility and reduce eye strain. Additionally, both operating systems offer built-in color adjustment tools, allowing users to customize their display settings for better readability across all apps, including Duo Mobile.

How to enable

Android

Dark mode is supported on devices running Android 10 or greater. To enable:

  • Navigate to Settings > Display > Dark Theme.

iOS

Dark mode is supported on devices running iOS 13 or greater.  There are two options for enabling dark mode on iOS:

  • Navigate to Settings App > Display & Brightness and select the “Dark” appearance.
  • Navigate to Control Center, long press the brightness slider, and tap the “Dark Mode” icon.

Additional Color Configuration

For users that want to adjust the colors on their device, iOS and Android provide filters that will adjust every app all at once. Both operating systems allow you to make shortcuts to turn this on and off quickly.

Android

It can vary by device but typically these settings are accessed by:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Accessibility > Text & Display.
  3. Scroll down and tap on Color Correction.

iOS

  1. Open the Settings application.
  2. Go to Accessibility > Display & Text.
  3. Scroll down and tap on Color Filters.
