Users can choose to store conversations either locally on their device or on the cloud for cross-device access. You have four configuration options to control the visibility, accessibility, and privacy of your conversations.
- Log in to the Comet AI platform.
- Open the left sidebar and click the Gear icon > Settings.
- A floating settings window will appear. The default tab is "Configurations."

- Switch to the Conversation Storage tab at the top.

You will now see four storage options available.
Local Storage
Conversations are saved on your current browser/device only.
- Option 1: Store all existing and new conversations locally.
- Moves your current and future chats to local storage.
- Option 2: Store only new conversations locally.
- Existing conversations storage location remains unchanged (either cloud or local) whichever was enabled before; only future ones are saved locally.
Cloud Storage
Conversations are saved to the cloud and accessible across browsers/devices.
- Option 3: Store all existing and new conversations in the cloud.
- Move all your current and future conversations to cloud storage.
- Option 4: store only new conversations in the cloud.
- Keeps current conversations at storage location as-is (either cloud or local) and saves only future chats to the cloud.
- Select the Conversation Storage Option as you desire.
- You must click Apply Changes for your storage selection to take effect.

- A confirmation box will appear after selecting Apply Changes.
- Click OK to proceed or Cancel to return without saving changes.

- If you click OK, a second message will confirm that your conversations have been successfully moved to the cloud.
Important: Do not click the "Save" button at the bottom-right corner – it is not required for this configuration.

- Local storage limits accessibility to one device/browser only.
- Now your conversations will be stored as you have desired.
- By default, conversations are stored in Cloud Storage.
- Users may change this preference to Store Conversations Locally if desired.
- These settings apply only to the current browser and can be manually overwritten at the conversation level using the cloud icon.
