Context

Note: All users must be aware of potential phishing attempts.

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Information Security Office (ISO) work diligently to secure and defend UTD against cyber threats, but some will inevitably make their way through. We ask that all users report suspicious emails to help us protect users throughout UTD.

This article outlines the procedure for reporting phishing emails.

Process

OPTION 1 - You may forward the email with a descriptive subject to assist@utdallas.edu.
OPTION 2 - Submit a ticket here using the Report Phishing Email service offering.

Clicked or Responded to Phishing Email

If you clicked or responded to a phishing email, please do the following:

  1. Reset your password immediately using the NetID Self-Service Portal.
  2. Navigate to the Spam or Phishing Email service page.
  3. Select the Report Phishing Email service offering.
  4. Enter the details of the phishing email.
    1. Including any information you provided when clicking/ responding to the email.
    2. Note in the ticket that you have already reset your password.
  5. Click Submit.

ISO will review and validate the integrity of your account and follow up if concerns arise.
