Request Single Sign-On for Application or Service

This article outlines the procedure for requesting SSO authentication for a new or existing application or service.

Process

Single Sign-On authentication allows UTD users to use the same username (their NetID) and password on all UTD services. It also provides a familiar and secure log-in environment, giving users peace of mind and reducing incidents.

Important: OIT strongly encourages the use of SSO on all services that support it.
  • Navigate to the Single Sign-On service page.
  • Select the Request SSO for New Application or Service service offering.
  • Complete the request with the following information:
    • Additional Contacts
      • This individual will be the one notified when the ticket is updated in addition to the requestor.
    • Application Name
    • Third-Party Support (Y/N)
    • Details of Application and Request
    • MFA (DUO) Enabled (Y/N)
    • Former Employee Access (Y/N)
    • Retiree Access (Y/N)
    • Notification list for the outage and planned maintenance
    • Application Entity ID
    • Metadata Source
    • Required attributes (Display Name, Email, NetID, etc.)
    • Attachment
      • Documents (if available) regarding SSO / SAML / or Shibboleth integration, including a metadata file.
  • Click Submit.
    • The request will then be routed to the OIT Dx IGA team(s) for approval and implementation.
