How to Set the Default Audio Device On a Computer

This article explains how to set the default audio input and output device on a Mac or Windows computer.

Mac
- Click the Apple icon in the upper left.
- Select System Preferences. (or System Settings)
- Choose the Sound icon.
- Click the Input tab, and then select your headset dongle. (If wired, select your headset by name. Changes save automatically.)
- Click the Output tab, and then select your headset. (If wired, select your headset by name. Changes save automatically.)
- Quit System Preferences (or System Settings).
Note: If your device does not appear in the list, ensure it is properly connected and powered on.
Windows
- Click the Start menu, search for the Sound Settings, then launch it.
- Under Output select your headset dongle. (*If wired, headset name)
- Under Input select your headset dongle. (*If wired, headset name)
- Click Apply and then click OK
- Close Sound Settings.
Note: If your device does not appear in the list, ensure it is properly connected and powered on.
