Your UTD-ID

This article provides UTD-ID information and contacts who can assist with locating your ID.

Details

Your UTD-ID is one of the two unique identifiers associated with your UT Dallas account - the other being your Net ID (abc123456 or DAL123456). The new NetID system launched in summer 2024.

The UTD-ID will have ten digits starting with 20 or 40 (e.g., 2012345678). In contrast with your NetID, which identifies you publicly, your UTD-ID is used primarily for identity verification as a replacement for your Social Security Number.

Locate Your UTD-ID

Comet Card

• UTD- ID is located on the front of your Comet Card, bottom-right corner.

Admission Email

• Applicants/Students receive an email from admission@utdallas.edu which contains their UTD-ID.
• Email is sent to their personal email 1 to 3 business days after you applied to UTD.
  • Admissions uses the personal email address listed on the application form.

Galaxy

• Applicants/Students: Navigate to Galaxy > Orion > Profile. 
  • UTD-ID is listed at the top-left,next to your profile photo.
• Staff/Faculty: Navigate to Galaxy > Gemini > Self Service > Payroll and Compensation > View Paycheck.
  • UTD-ID is listed as "Employee ID" on your paycheck.
