JMP Pro Installation Guide (macOS)

Summary

JMP includes enhancements and new statistical and analytic capabilities that help you visualize, examine and model data about your products, processes and customers. This software is available to UTD staff, faculty, and students.

Off-Campus Pre-Requisites

  • Connect to the UTD VPN- GlobalProtect.
    • If you have never connected to the VPN, please visit KA 279 to get started. 
  • After installing and setting up the VPN, please follow the installation instructions mentioned below.

Installation Process

  • Press Command (⌘) + K on your keyboard.
    • This step opens the "Connect to Server" window.

  • Select Registered user and enter your UTD credentials > Connect.

  • In the Allshare folder, navigate to:
    • Installs > JMP > MAC > JMP PRO # [latest available version] > JMP > JMP_Pro > 17_0 (or latest available version) > Macintosh > JMP.dmg (.dmg file name may vary, but select .dmg file available)
    • After clicking on "JMP.dmg" a prompt is opened to install JMP Pro.pkg.
  • Double click on JMP.dmg to open the installer.

  • Click Continue to start the installation process.

  • When prompted, select the destination of your choice > Continue.
  • Click Install under "Installation Type" (the installer may run for several minutes.)
  • Once the installation is finished, click Close.

Note: The steps below are to be used if you're wanting to just update your JMP version.
  • After installation of JMP pro, return to the "Allshare" folder and copy the file JMP170_9CWQLP_70255133_OSX_X86-64.txt and paste it in on your desktop.
    • Path: AllShare > Installs > JMP > MAC > JMP Pro # > JMP170_9CWQLP_70255133_OSX_X86-64.txt. 
    • File name for .txt may vary based on version.

  • In your Search for "JMP Pro #" on your system Applications and click to open the software.

  • Once the software opens, it prompts you to show the license has expired. Select Open Licence.

  • You will then be asked to upload a document from your system. 
    • Select the .txt document copied to your desktop (previous step.)

  • After selecting the file, you may get a prompt to enter Administrator Name and Department.
    • However, you can leave these fields blank and click on OK.

  • Your license is now successfully updated.
