Purpose

This article contains instructions to show, hide or pin a team or channel on Microsoft Teams. Instructions for the List and Grid layouts are included.

Note: You can see your Teams layout in the “Grid View” or “List View” depending on your preferences. To change viewing options, please refer to KB316.   

Procedure

Hide Teams/Channels

List View

Grid View

  • Open the Teams application, click on the Teams icon
  • This should open a list of all the teams you are a part of.

  • This should open a list of all the teams you are a part of.

  • Go to a team name and select More options icon (...) > Hide

Note: You can also open the More option by right-clicking on the team or channel of your choice. The hide option is not available for the ‘General Channel’ within any teams.
 

 

  • Go to a team name and select More options icon (...) > Hide

  • To hide a channel. Click on the Teams group, go to the channel you want to hide, select  More options icon (...) > Hide

Show Teams/Channels 

List View

Grid View

  • New Teams automatically shown in your team's list. 
    • If you know you're a member of a team but don't see it, scroll to the bottom of your team's list and select Hidden teams. 
  • Find the team you're looking for, select More options (...) > Show.  
    • You can also right-click on the team or channel to open "More options".

  • You can also show channels from the hidden channel’s menu beneath the channels list of a team. Select More options (...)> Show

Note: Teams automatically shows the five most popular channels in every new team you join. 
  • New Teams automatically shown in your team's list.
