How to Update Your JMP License

Summary

This article provides information on how to update the license of the installed JMP software.

Open File Explorer.
Click on the Address bar and enter "\\campus.ad.utdallas.edu\UTD\AllShare\".
Within the AllShare folder, navigate to Installs > JMP > Windows > JMP Pro # (replace # with the version you are updating the license on).
Open the folder sid_files.
- There should be a single file in that folder.

Copy the file in the "sid_files folder" to your desktop.
- Right-click on the file, and select Copy.
- Right-click on your desktop and select Paste (this can be saved in any folder of your choice.)
Open JMP Pro as an Administrator.
- To do this, search for "JMP Pro #" in the Start menu, right-click on JMP Pro then select Run as administrator.

Once opened, JMP may show a prompt that your license is expiring or has expired.
- Select Open License.

Select the file you just copied to your device.
In the "Personalize Your JMP License" window, do not fill out any of the boxes on the next window.
- Click Ok.
You will get a confirmation box stating that the license has been accepted.

Open Finder, press Command + K.
Enter "smb://campus.ad.utdallas.edu/UTD" and select AllShare.
Within the AllShare folder, navigate to Installs > JMP > MAC> JMP Pro # (replace # with the version you are updating the license on).
Open the folder sid_files.
- There should be a single file in that folder.

- Right-click on the file, and select Copy.
- Right-click on your desktop and select Paste (this can be saved in any folder of your choice.)
Go to your device Applications and open JMP Pro.

- Select Open License.

- You will get a confirmation box stating that the license has been accepted.

If you do not receive the pop-up box, you can manually update the license:

From the File menu > New > Script to open a script window.
Enter this line: "renew license ();".
From the "Edit" menu, select Run Script.
In the resulting Renew Your JMP License window, click Open License.
At the prompt, navigate to where you saved the "sid_files" and follow the instructions as specified above.
