How to Access CometAI

This document provides step-by-step instructions on how to securely log in & log out to the CometAI platform using your UT Dallas NetID and password.

Access CometAI

Go to the CometAI platform's welcome page on your preferred web browser.
- You will see the initial loading screen.

1Login to CometAI — click to sign in and start using CometAI

Click the Login to CometAI button located in the center of the page.
Enter your UTD credentials.
- You will be redirected to the official University of Texas at Dallas Single Sign-On (SSO) page.
Click the green Login button to authenticate with Duo.

1NetID — enter your UT Dallas NetID

2Password — enter your NetID password

3Login — submits your credentials to sign in via UTD SSO

As an enhanced security measure, the system will prompt you to verify your identity using Duo. A push notification will be automatically sent to the primary device you have registered with Duo Mobile.
To continue, check your registered device (typically a smartphone) and Approve the Duo login request.

1Secured by Duo — this identity verification step is powered by Duo two-factor authentication

Once your identity is successfully verified through Duo, you will be automatically redirected to the CometAI platform's main homepage. You are now logged in and can begin using the system to start new conversations, review your history, and utilize the available Small and Language Models, RAG Assistants, Prompt Templates, Group Assistants, Visual Workflow Builder etc.

2New Chat — starts a fresh conversation

3Search — find past conversations

4Conversations list — grouped by date, expandable per day

5Model selector — choose or view the active AI model

6User avatar — access your account

7Message input — type your message to CometAI

8Toolbar — attach files, use plugins, and access settings from the chat

9Plugin Selector — floating shortcut to enable tools like RAG, Web Search, and more

Logout CometAI

To log out of the platform, click on the User Menu at the top right of the screen. And locate the Sign Out button at the bottom of the dropdown menu .
