Export Options

Select your Export option to continue:

  • Format: Select PowerPoint as your desired output format. This guide focuses on the PowerPoint export.
  • Template: When exporting to PowerPoint, this option allows you to select a pre-designed template.
    • Select it from the list of MS templates provided.
  • Include Conversation Name: Choose Yes to add the conversation's title (as seen in the left-hand panel) to the top of your document.
  • Include: This powerful option lets you decide which parts of the chat to export: Assistant Messages only, User Messages (your prompts) only, or Both.
  • Header Options (Conversation, Message, User, Assistant): These fields allow you to use Markdown (e.g., for a main heading, ## for a subheading) to automatically structure your document.
    • For example, using # in the Conversation Header field will make the conversation title a top-level heading in the Word document. You can similarly set headers for every message, or apply different headers for user and assistant messages, to create a highly organized transcript.

Download

  • Scroll to the "Conversations" list at the bottom of the pane after setting your formatting options.

Improving PowerPoint pptx Output

  • The quality and formatting of exported PowerPoint documents depend on how responses are generated in CometAI.
  • Using the built-in Custom Instructions and selecting the appropriate model can significantly improve the structure and readability of downloaded documents.

Using Custom Instructions

CometAI includes preconfigured Custom Instructions designed to generate structured, PowerPoint-ready output.

When enabled, these instructions ensure that responses:

  • Use clear and readable headings instead of unstructured text
  • Maintain consistent spacing between sections
  • Avoid formatting issues such as markdown symbols or broken tables
  • Produce content that is easier to export and use in Microsoft PowerPoint

Example

To access the Custom Instructions:

  • Go to the Assistants Tab on the top-left sidebar.
  • Click on Custom Instructions to toggle down the menu.

Choosing the Right Model

The selected model directly affects how well slides are structured, how concise the content is, and how cleanly the output renders in PowerPoint.

For presentations, models must:

  • Follow concise formatting rules
  • Generate short, slide-friendly content
  • Maintain clear structure without breaking layout

Recommended Models

Paid model options:

  • Claude Sonnet 5 – Best balance of structure, consistency, and quality
  • Claude Opus (4.x) – More detailed and polished output
  • OpenAI GPT‑5.x – Strong general-purpose document generation

Free model options:

  • UT Aspire – Llama 3.3 70B Instruct – Best Aspire option for structured and consistent slide generation
  • UT Aspire – Llama 4 (Scout / Maverick) – Good balance of speed and presentation quality
  • UT Aspire – Gemma 4‑31B – Best for simple, concise slide content.

Use with Caution

  • Flash or Lite models (optimized for speed, less structured output)
  • Smaller models (may produce inconsistent formatting)

Best Practice

For best results when exporting to PowerPoint:

  • Use the default structured output (Custom Instructions enabled) - PowerPoint Assistant under Custom Instructions
  • Select a high-quality model (Claude Sonnet or GPT‑5.x)
  • Enter prompts such as:
    • “Create a 5-slide presentation on UT Dallas: Rising North Texas University”
    • “Generate a pitch deck for a food delivery startup”
    • “Create a presentation on climate change impacts with key points”

Key Difference from Word Documents

  • Word documents benefit from strict formatting rules
  • PowerPoint presentations work best with light guidance and concise content

Over-controlling formatting in prompts or Custom Instructions may:

Disclaimer: Formatting in Presentation sometimes overflows and may Break slide parsing, cause text overflow, and reduce layout quality. Hence prompting is very important. The CometAI Team is working on addressing these issues.
