Context
UTD has several home directory servers with different default quotas for Staff, Faculty, and Students, depending on their major, department, or other associations. Detailed here are the various home directory servers UTD maintains, their default storage quotas, and the Unix or Windows paths to access them.
Details
MARS
Default home directory used when no other servers are applicable.
- Unix: /home/mars
- Windows: \\mars.utdallas.edu
- Quota: 10GB (Students/Staff/Faculty)
- No storage quota increases are granted for Mars directories.
- Maintenance is performed every 18 weeks (end of the semester). Old data is purged from removed users.
REGEX
Home directory for OIT Staff and Faculty.
- Unix: /home/regex
- Windows: \\regex.utdallas.edu
- Quota: 10GB (OIT Staff/Faculty Only)
AXON
Home directory for Behavioral and Brain Sciences.
- Unix: /home/axon
- Windows: \\axon.utdallas.edu
- Quota: No Limit (Faculty/Staff/select students)
MALTHUS
Home directory for Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences.
- Unix: /home/malthus
- Windows: \\mathlus.utdallas.edu
- Quota: No Limit (Staff/Faculty Only)
ENGSTOR
Home directory for Engineering.
- Unix: /home/engstor
- Windows: \\engstor.utdallas.edu
- Quota: Students - 3GB, TAs - 4GB, Staff - 6GB, Faculty - 10GB
HOPPER
Home directory for Computer Science.
- Unix: /people
- Windows: \\grace.campus.ad.utdallas.edu
- Quota: No Limit
- Maintenance is performed every 18 weeks (end of the semester). Old data is purged from removed users.
UU
Home directory for Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
- Linux: /net/uu
- Windows: N/A
- Quota: Varies by department
