The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) is required by Section 2054.0593 of the Texas Government Code to establish a state risk and authorization management program for cloud computing services. The DIR will define the services under this program and the certification requirements for vendors. All cloud computing contracts from January 1, 2022, must comply with these requirements. Institutions can only contract services from vendors who demonstrate compliance with the program.
