How to Record a Video Using Microsoft Clipchamp (On SharePoint)

What is Clipchamp (On SharePoint)?

Clipchamp (on SharePoint) is an intelligent enterprise video creation experience that is part of Microsoft 365. It empowers you to record, upload, discover, share, and manage video just as you would any other file. Video is like any other document. It seamlessly integrates with apps across Microsoft 365, so you get the same experience no matter where you add or engage with video content.

Note: Any videos saved on your OneDrive or SharePoint would be visible on the Clipchamp (On SharePoint) homepage.

  • All icon: All saved and shared videos by you.
  • Recently opened: Recently opened videos.
  • Shared icon: All videos shared by you.
  • Favorites: Favorite videos

If you are facing issues locating a certain video on the Clipchamp (on SharePoint) homepage: Open the video once from OneDrive (web version) to see it on your homepage.

How to Record

  • Navigate to M365 Copilot
  • Click the Apps and more icon.
    • Located top-left of page.
  • Select More apps.

  • Click on Clipchamp.
  • Clipchamp homepage will now open.

  • Select the icon associated with the type of recording needed:
    • Upload a video
    • Record screen
    • Record camera
    • Create video project
  • New tab will open after your selection.

Note: Clipchamp (on SharePoint) offers two recording options. 

Screen recording allows the user to record themselves and their screen.
Camera recording only allows the user to record themselves.
  • Using the menu on the bottom of the screen, select which feature to use:
    • Camera
    • Mic
    • Screen share
    • Script
    • Effects, etc.
If sharing screen: Select the Start screen recording icon and turn on the Also share system audio toggle to record computer audio.

Note: Clipchamp allows users to record videos of up to 15 minutes. A timer on bottom of the recording screen will display the time elapsed.
  • Click Stop recording when recording is finished.
  • Various video editing options will be available.
  • Select the desired editing icon:
    • Trim
    • Add music
    • Delete clip
  • Click Finish once completed.
    • Video will automatically save in the Recordings folder (OneDrive)

  • Once the video is uploaded, you can adjust its settings under Video settings.
    • Located on right-hand side of screen.

  • Click the Share icon to share the video.
