Fix Permissions Issues

Many issues related to page visibility and content loads on personal web pages is related to incorrectly set permissions. The OIT Linux team has developed a script that will automatically set the permissions of all personal site files so that they may be served correctly.

  1. Connect to Giant via SSH.
  2. Enter the fixmywebsite command.
  3. The script will list all the files it will modify and ask for permission.
  4. Verify that your website is fixed by going to https://personal.utdallas.edu/~NetID.
Note: Remember to replace NetID in the link above with your NetID or preferred email address prefix.
