TechKnowledgy Bar
The TechKnowledgy Bar is located on the first floor of the Student Union (SU 1.204A). Click here to view the location on the UT Dallas interactive map. It features a vivid television screen in front of a display counter with high stool chairs. Cushioned benches surround the screen and display counter seating additional guests. There are six additional chairs along the TechKnowledgy Bar counter that are primarily for those needing walk-up support but can be rearranged to fit your event needs. Guests who have a reservation are allowed to use the television screen to share information with their attendees.
Reservations
Reservation requests for the TechKnowledgy Bar can be made by submitting a request here. Different types of requests are:
- Tech Try-Outs: Tech Try-Outs are used to showcase any new technology for various days at the TechKnowledgy Bar.
- Vendor Visits: Vendor Visits are open for anyone inside or outside of UTD who is wanting to share information regarding a new system or device.
- UTD Org. Events: Open to any UTD student organization or department to share your tech. ideas and innovations happening within.
Each request is individually reviewed for approval. In the review process, OIT will look at the purpose of the event to make sure it aligns with technology and innovation and make sure needs can be met. Once your request has been reviewed, you will receive an email regarding your request status.

AV and Facilities
OIT and the TechKnowledgy Bar are not responsible for your all AV or Facilities needs. Event planners who have a reservation are allowed to use the stools, display table and any other furniture located at the TechKnowledgy Bar. Additional tables and chairs are to be provided by the event planner or by submitting a request form with Facilities.
The TechKnowledgy Bar does provide an HDMI cable for your laptop to be shared on the main TechKnowledgy Bar screen. Basic AV needs (speaker and microphone) can also be provided by OIT in collaboration with the Student Union. For additional AV needs, contact Media and Video Services.
Set-up and Tear-down
OIT and the TechKnowledgy Bar are not responsible for pre or post event needs. Event planners are responsible for their event set-up and tear-down. Planners should include set-up and tear-down time when submitting a reservation request.
Student Union
The Student Union houses the TechKnowledgy bar, as well as many facilities including billiards tables, lounges, eateries, and hangouts. Only the Techknowledgy Bar can be reserved directly through OIT. If registered student organizations and departments (staff and faculty) would like to reserve additional spaces in the SU, please submit your request here.
