Context
A Follow-Up Button is a ready-made option that lets users quickly send common questions or commands without retyping them. These buttons are set up in a similar way to prompt templates and are connected to certain conversation tags. This ensures that follow-up buttons only appear when they are relevant conversations. When a conversation has a matching tag, the follow-up button will automatically appear at the end of a response, making it easy to keep the conversation going. This feature helps to make interactions smoother by providing targeted shortcuts that save time and improve the user experience.
Instructions
- Open a web browser and go to CometAI.
- On the right column, select + Prompt Template.

- The Prompt Template window will appear.
- Provide a name and a brief description for the template.

- In the Prompt text box write a set of instructions to provide rules and/or guidance that CometAI will apply to every message in a conversation.
- Prompts can range from providing guidance on tone and structure to redirecting users to specific reference material. In the example below, the prompt asks to create a Welcome Email for onboarding a new employee.

- Add Required Tags associated with the main goal of the Follow-Up Button.
- Required Tags are used to display the Follow-Up Button in conversations that include an associated Conversation Tag.
- For example, if you create an "Employee Onboarding" prompt template featuring a Conversation Tag "Onboarding", then any follow-up buttons that have "Onboarding" set as the Required Tag will automatically appear in relevant conversations.

- Under Template Type, please select Follow-Up Button When complete select Save.

Implement Follow-Up Button
- Select a desired Prompt Template from the right column, provide variables if requested, then select Submit to start a conversation.
- Within the conversation window CometAI will display Follow-Up Buttons based on associated Conversation and Required Tags.

- Selecting a Follow-Up Button will ask CometAI to create text based on your follow-up button's prompt.
- In our example below, a Follow-Up Button named "Welcome Email" creates an onboarding email based on the OnBoarding Prompt Template and references provided variables.
