Checking Your Computer’s Hardware Specifications (Windows)

Purpose

The steps below will show you how to check your hardware specifications on a Windows() computer.  Demonstrations and screenshots below use different versions and styles of Windows Operating systems. However, the steps are the same.

Procedures

Checking Processor/Memory

  1. Click on the Windows icon() at the bottom-left of your screen.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Navigate to Windows Settings icon()

Checking Hard Drive

  1. Select System.

  1. Select the Storage tab.
  2. Under "Local storage", you can view the capacity of your hard drive.

Checking Device Network Hardware

  1. Select Network & Internet.

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi tab.
  2. Select Hardware properties.

  1. Near the bottom of the list, you can view your network hardware's "Manufacturer, Description, and Driver version".
