Locate Device MAC Address (Windows)

Purpose

This article assists you in finding your MAC address in a Window device. 

Procedure 

  • Open Command Prompt from the Windows search bar.

  • Type ipconfig /all and press Enter.

  • The MAC address will be listed as the Physical Address. It will be in the format of xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx and include a mix of numbers and letters.
  • There should be multiple adapters listed, but you should look for the Physical Address under "Ethernet adapter Ethernet" for a wired connection.

  • For a wireless connection, the MAC address will be listed as the Physical Address. It will be in the format of xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx and include a mix of numbers and letters.
  • There should be multiple adapters listed, but you should look for the Physical Address under "Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi" for a wireless connection.
