Microsoft Teams chat window with an image which was not loaded.

Resolution

Here are the steps that you should follow when the Teams Chat cannot show images:

  1. Log out from the Teams application by clicking on your profile picture icon (Or initials) on the top right and click Sign out.
  2. Close the Microsoft Teams Application by right-clicking the Teams icon on the Taskbar and then clicking the quit button.
  3. Re-launch the Teams App.
  4. Log into Teams with your NetID and Password
  5. Open the Chat and check if you are able to view the images now.
  6. If this does not work, go to Settings>Applications and deselect the Disable GPU Hardware Acceleration(requires restarting Teams).

General tab under Settings menu of the Teams app with check boxes under Application menu to manage the app. It shows the check box for Disable GPU hardware acceleration(requires restarting Team) as unchecked.

Note: It is always recommended to check for updates first when you face any issue on the Teams App. Click on the three dots (...) on the top right (Left to the Profile Picture icon) and click Check for updates.
