Installing Mathematica on Your Personal Computer (Staff and Faculty)

Purpose

Mathematica provides a single integrated, continually expanding system that covers the breadth and depth of technical computing. It is seamlessly available in the cloud through any web browser on all modern desktop systems. UT Dallas has a site license for Mathematica. Please follow the instructions below to install Mathematica on your personal computer.

Note: Mathematica is available on computers in the OIT computer labs. To have Mathematica setup on a UTD-Owned computer, please contact the Help Desk.

Steps

  • Please access the Mathematica webpage, and request a home-use license from Wolfram.
  • Select Continue.

  • Check the appropriate options for choosing your application designed as per your device OS as shown below in the image.

  • Select Continue after reading the "User Agreement".

  • Fill in your contact information and use your utdallas.edu address.

  • Check  "I agree to the retention of my personal data explained in the Privacy Policy.*" Select Submit.

  • Your request will be submitted to the Help Desk. You will be notified with a confirmation/approval within 1-3 business days.

After Approval

  • After the request is approved, you will receive an email from Wolfram with your activation key.
  • Log in to user.wolfram.com. If you have not created a Wolfram ID, you will be asked to create one first.
  • Validate your email ID by going to the profile section and clicking on send a verification email.
  • Navigate to my products and services page, scroll down to the downloads section, and download the application once your license is activated.
  • Run the installer on your machine and enter the activation key at prompt.
