This service is provided to bring the usability and convenience of Amazon’s ambient computing using Alexa devices to enrich the experience of students, faculty, and staff.

Applications and Software Distribution

Distribution, installation, and troubleshooting of software and licenses via media, online methods, and license servers. Includes both cloud-based and desktop software.

Desktop and Mobile Device Support

Support for all types of end-point devices, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and related peripherals that are not in the printing service. Includes support for the associated operating system, hardware, and systems that provide enterprise management of computing devices.

Printing and Related Services

The services are for technology associated with printers and copiers, such as copy, scan, fax, and print. It also includes supporting technologies such as copy centers, print quota systems, 3D printing, and other replicating technologies.

Software and Hardware Purchasing

Purchasing consultations, hardware procurement, software procurement, license renewal, device refreshes, and technology recycling.

Web Applications

Support for the web-based applications that are accessible over the network or internet through a web browser.

IT Purchasing Guide

IT Purchasing guide is designed to streamline and simplify the process of purchasing software. This ensures security, eliminates redundancy and creates a low-risk list of software that the campus can purchase. These lists will continue to expand.

All UT Dallas Information Systems should be updated with the latest compatible software patches. This includes patches for the operating system and third-party applications. High-priority patches may need to be installed outside of routine change control procedures at the request of the ISO in order to address critical security vulnerabilities.
