How to Manage Your Sent Items Folder

Summary

If you find that you are running low on storage in your email. One of the best ways to free up space is to get a handle of the number of emails that are in your sent items folder. Sent items do count to your storage space while in your sent messages folder. Here are just a few ways to better manage your sent items folder.

Note: Newer Outlook doesn’t have the “Clean Up feature” - As in the right click drop down from above, we couldn’t see such option. 

Delete All Sent Folder Emails 

When looking for a way to free up space in your email, the sent items folder can be a great place to start. 

  1. Open the Outlook Desktop App.
Note: If you find that you have more than 500 emails in your "Sent Items" folder, then you will need to open the Web Outlook version instead. This will make sure that you have access to all emails.
  1. Navigate to the Sent Items folder.
    • Located towards the left side of screen.

  1. Right click on Sent Items.
  2. Select Empty from the menu options.

  1. Pop-up message will appear to confirm deletion of all items. 
    • Click Delete all
