What Is It?
The Office of Research and Innovation website team hosts and supports over 300 faculty research lab, center, and group websites on CampusPress. Requests currently range from “create the site and hand over the keys” to full custom design and content population. To protect capacity for routine maintenance and for our high-profile center, institute, and departmental sites, we offer a two-tier scope of service for our standard website offerings:
Tier 1 — Standard Service (default)
For individual faculty labs and research groups — the majority of sites we host.
- Site built on an existing CampusPress theme; UTD branding (logo, colors) and school branding applied via supported theme options
- Migration of content from an existing site, up to 8 existing pages, using only functionality supported by our standard themes and blocks
- Editor access granted for designated UTD NetIDs
- One onboarding session (office hours or self-service training materials)
Not included: custom theme/code development, full content entry on requestor’s behalf, iterative design revisions, ongoing content maintenance after handoff.
Tier 2 — Elevated Service (by request)
Reserved for research centers, institutes, and sites designated high-profile/strategic by leadership.
- Custom theme design or development
- Hands-on content population / data entry by our team
- Dedicated planning meetings and iterative design revisions
- Priority turnaround, subject to team capacity
Requires ORIS Associate Director approval before scoping and scheduling; evaluated against current team capacity.
