Microsoft is retiring Exchange Web Services (EWS) which is used by some third-party email and calendar applications to connect to UT Dallas accounts.
Explanation
UT Dallas has taken steps to prevent an immediate impact and users should not experience any changes at this time. When Microsoft permanently retires EWS, some third-party email and calendar applications may no longer connect to UT Dallas accounts unless the application provider has updated their service.
Affected third-party applications would include:
- Thunderbird Mail
- Evolution Mail Client
- Apple Mail, etc…
If you use a third-party email or calendar application, keep the application up to date and watch for information from the application provider about upcoming changes. If your application no longer works with your UT Dallas account, Microsoft Outlook can be used instead.
