How-to: Create a New REDCap Project
Navigate to
https://redcap.utdallas.edu
and log-in using your NetID and password.
Create a new project by clicking "
+New Project
"
.
Enter the following relevant project information
Project Title
Project’s Purpose
Practice/Just for fun
Operational Support
- This option should be used if the new project will support standard operations such as surveying participants availability to complete an in-person assessment.
Research
– This option should be used if the new project is associated with an IRB study (Note: For Research, you must fill out administrative details such as P.I., email, IRB number, type of research, etc.)
Quality Improvement
- This option should be used if the new project is designed to improve processes such as a survey assessing student and staff's satisfaction with the Core Facilities scheduling process.
Other
- This option should be used if no option above fits the scope of the project

Notes
Project Creation Option
Empty Project (Blank slate)
Upload a REDCap project xml file (CDISC ODM format)
Use a template (choose one below)
– Note there are IRB Templates built out to more quickly assist IRB related projects.
Click
Create Project
at the bottom of your screen.
