Issue with Sharing Class Team Meeting Recordings (View Only Folder)

Purpose

This article focuses on troubleshooting an issue reported by instructors that some students could not access and view a Class Team meeting recording. The problem has been identified, and a workaround is offered until Microsoft applies a fix.

Note: Hyperlinks generated within the Class Team interface versus the SharePoint interface offer different sharing results. The Get Link or Copy Link command, within the Class Team interface, results in users getting an Access Denied page.

Explanation

The following work around method will create links that enforce the block download rule of video files stored in the view-only folder.

  • Go to the Teams channel where the meeting was recorded.
  • Click Files > Select the Recordings folder as shown below.
