What Is It? / What type of event?

  • The Events and Marketing Manager, Kristi Barrus, oversees major Jindal School External Affairs events and assists programs and centers in navigating the University’s events planning process.
  • Select "Schedule JSOM Event" and fill out "SERA Request Details" if your event applies:

    • Advertised and/or open to the public.
    • Alcohol will be served.
    • Food will be catered.
    • Outside supplier utilized, such as entertainer, speaker, musician, approved animals, etc.
    • High attendance or potential for high attendance.
    • Income-producing; fees or admissions collected.
    • Media contact or involvement.
    • Minors involved or invited.
    • Outside normal business hours, including weekends, unless solely for academic purpose.
    • Overnight stay.
    • Outside entity using UTD property or facilities for event. (Use of University Facilities and/or Jo
    • Potential for significant disruption.
    • Controversial speaker or subject matter.
    • Requires Facilities Management, Parking, Police, or Fire & Life Safety involvement.
    • Requires insurance.
    • Utilizes release and/or waiver.
    • University sponsored event at off campus location(s), including personal residences.

Who Is Eligible to Use It?

  • Program directors, faculty, administrators, and staff.

  • To book a room for your event:
    • To start the booking process, please visit the Room Reservation Page of the Office of the President’s Event Planning Guide. It lists contact and form information on a campus-wide basis for auditoriums, conference rooms and meeting spaces, computer labs and classrooms and lecture halls.
      • As noted on the Room Reservation Page, all student groups and student organizations must register to use any room on campus via the Student Union system, Mazevo System. To avoid liability and other issues, faculty and staff should not book rooms in their names on behalf of students or student organizations, without designating who the faculty or staff member in attendance will be responsible.
    • To reserve the first-floor Charles and Nancy Davidson Auditorium (1.118), Atrium (1.126), Rooms 1.502, 1.508, 1.516 and 1.517, Executive Dining Room (1.606) Sides A/B and Reception, and 11.214 and 11.218 please email your requests to ExecEdRooms@utdallas.edu.
  • Fill out the form Technology Services Event Request Form if you need any of the following:
    • Audio equipment; CD Player(s); DVD Player(s); Jindal School backdrop; Microphones; Monitors; Portable PA System(s); Projector(s); Screens; *social media; **Video recording(s)
