Desktop Support - Contract Services

What to Expect

Clear coordination, oversight, and communication when third party vendors are engaged to support University owned technology or services.

What This Covers

This process explains how OIT Onsite Services coordinates and manages contracted service providers that perform approved technology related work on behalf of The Office of Information Technology.

When This Happens

When specialized services are required that are delivered by approved vendors, including installations, repairs, upgrades, or project based work.

What Onsite Services Will Do

  1. Coordinate contracted work with approved vendors and internal stakeholders.
  2. Validate scope, scheduling, and access requirements prior to work being performed.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact during onsite or remote vendor activities.
  4. Monitor work progress to ensure alignment with University standards and expectations.
  5. Address issues or escalations that arise during contracted work.
  6. Verify completion of services and basic operational readiness.
  7. Document contracted activities, outcomes, and related details in University systems.
  8. Communicate status updates and next steps as needed.
