How to Report Time in TDX

Context

The time reporting functionality in TeamDynamix allows users to track and report where their time is being allocated efficiently. Each time entry, whether for a ticket, workspace, or project, will have a time type, a quantity, and a date associated with it. Adding time for any ticket, project, or workspace may be done indefinitely.

Note: TeamDynamix tracks all time in hours. To log minutes, enter the fraction of an hour corresponding to that quantity of time.

Ticket Creation Entry

The first opportunity to log time against a ticket is after creating the ticket. Once you submit a new ticket, you will be prompted to add time.

  • Select the Time Type from the drop-down menu and fill in the time in Hours.
    • This time will be automatically added to the newly created ticket.

Direct Ticket Entry

You are also able to enter time on a ticket under the "T&E" (Time and Expenses) tab within the ticket.

  • Navigate to a ticket to which you want to add time to.
  •  Select the T&E tab > Add Time.

  • Fill in the details on the populated dialog box, and click Save.

Updating Ticket

Updating a ticket also provides the opportunity to enter time. Below the "New Status" field is an option to add time.

  • Navigate to a ticket to which you want to add time to.
  • Click on Actions > Update.

Actions drop-down menu contains Update button, as well as other options.

  • Select the Time Type, Hours, and Date. Pressing Save will commit the updates to the ticket and log the time against the ticket.

Time and Expenses Tab

Time can also be logged against a ticket within the "Time & Expenses" tab in TDNext. Time is logged against both Projects and Workspaces in the same manner as Tickets.

Tickets

  • Navigate to Time & Expenses > Add Time.

  • Select Ticket and fill out the required fields.
    • Ticket: Search or enter the Ticket ID to attach your time to a specific ticket.
  • Click Save

Projects/ Workspaces

  • Navigate to Time & Expenses > Add Time.

  • Ensure you are on the correct week by using the left and right arrows next to the Week dates.
  • Select the appropriate Workspace or Project, fill out the fields, and press Save.
