Using the TeamDynamix App for Microsoft Teams

Purpose

This article will explain how to use the TeamDynamix (also known as Atlas) integration app for Microsoft Teams, which allows you to easily send interactive messages containing information from tickets, knowledge articles, and more. You can use this app in any Teams chat message or channel post.

Procedure

  • Click the three dots icon (...) in your app list underneath the message composition box.
    • If you don't see the app in the menu that pops up, you can enter "TDX" in the search bar to find it.
  • Then click the TDX icon to open the app.
    • The first time you do so, you will be redirected to the university login screen to log in with your Net ID and password.

Find an app window in Teams Chat configuration tab.

  • From the TDX app, select the tab for the type of TeamDynamix resource you would like to send. The three most common types are Tickets, Articles, and Services.

  • Search for what you want and click the result you would like to send.
    • An information card will appear in the message composition box. You can add additional comments and @-mentions below the card before sending. Note that the "View" and/or "Comment" buttons do not do anything until you send the message.

  • Once you hit send, everyone will see the card along with your message.
  • Clicking the "View" button at the bottom will open the resource in a web browser (subject to normal access restrictions) and, for tickets specifically, clicking the "Comment" button will allow you to leave a comment on the ticket's feed without having to leave Teams.
