Purpose

The scope of the article is to explain who has access to Office 365 apps at UTD and share a comprehensive list of resources you may need to be productive while using Office 365 and applications.

Explanation

All faculty, staff, and student users have access to Office 365. You can access the applications online through portal.office.com by logging in with your UTD email (netid@utdallas.edu) and password.

Note: Guest users do not have Office 365 access but can request Microsoft Teams by contacting the Help Desk.

Teams

Teams is a chat-based collaborative tool that provides a customizable team workspace. Teams integrate with many other Office 365 products to seamlessly connect you and your team to the entire Office 365 experience.

Planner makes it easy to create new plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, chat, and receive updates on projects. It enables you to manage teamwork and collaborate on simply visually.

Word is a word processing application where you can format text, insert images and tables, and layout documents.

Microsoft Whiteboard is a collaborative digital canvas for effective meetings and engaging learning. Individuals and teams alike can ideate, create, and collaborate visually by writing or drawing, typing in text, adding sticky notes or notes grid in real time, no matter where they are.

Microsoft OneNote is a note-taking program for free-form information gathering and multi-user collaboration. It gathers users' notes, drawings, screen clippings and audio commentaries. Notes can be shared with other OneNote users over the Internet or a network.
