Linking CITI Training with Cayuse

All individuals conducting research with human participants must complete the Human Subjects Protection training modules through the CITI Program before the Human Subjects Research Office will review an application.

  • Click on the following link to access the CITI training: https://utd.link/citi-program.
  • Select the Log In Through My Organization option and sign in with your UTD NetID and password.
    • Helpful tip: Search for UTD by typing in Dallas and selecting University of Texas at Dallas.

  • If you have an existing CITI account, select the I already have a CITI Program account option and log in with your current CITI account username and password. Once you have completed this step, the accounts will be linked together and you will be able to log in with your UTD NetID and password moving forward.

  • If you do not have a CITI account, select the I don’t have a CITI Program account and I need to create one option in order to create a new account using your UTD NetID and password.

  • Under the My Courses tab, select the View Courses option.

  • If you do not see the appropriate course listed, click on the Add a Course option.

  • Select the Human Subjects Research checkbox for the first question and the Social & Behavioral Research Investigators checkbox for the next question (Question 2 is not applicable for HSR).

  • Once the course has been added, it will show up in the Courses Ready to Begin section and you can begin the course by selecting the Start Now button.

  • Once the course has been completed, your training records will automatically pull into Cayuse for all applications on which you are listed. This step eliminates the need to upload your CITI completion certificate as a separate document into the application form.
    • Helpful tip: The completion certificate can be accessed via the My Records section if needed.
