What Is It?
Claude for Education provides UT Dallas faculty and staff with institutionally managed access to Anthropic's Claude AI assistant. It supports day-to-day work, including course prep, research, writing, data analysis, and administrative tasks, within a secure environment that meets the university's data governance and privacy standards. The offering includes Claude Chat for everyday AI assistance, Claude Cowork for more complex, multi-step work, and Claude Code for programming and development tasks.
Claude for Education - Standard Seat: Intended for everyday academic and administrative use, including teaching support, advising, document drafting, research assistance, and routine productivity tasks. Includes approximately 2.5x the Pro usage runway.
Claude for Education - Premium Seat: Built for higher-volume needs, including compute-intensive research, development workflows, extended sessions, and team use cases. Includes approximately 5x the Standard usage runway and supports longer sessions.

How Much Does It Cost?
Claude for Education - Standard Seat: $216 per user, per year.
Claude for Education - Premium Seat: $600 per user, per year.
Billing note: OIT does not prorate license fees. Requests submitted during the year are charged at the full annual license rate.

Claude for Education is governed by the UT Dallas Acceptable Use Policy, applicable security standards, and university AI governance guidelines.
Claude for Education is not approved for Protected Health Information (PHI) or HIPAA-regulated data. Do not enter, upload, or process protected health information within the platform.
Access is assigned to individual employees and may not be shared or transferred to another user.
As with any AI tool, users remain responsible for reviewing and validating AI-generated content before using it in official university business.
