Personal Webpage Responsibility Acknowledgement

Context

In order to publish or maintain a personal webpage, and in addition to the technical requirements described in Article - How to Setup Your Home Page (Personal Webpage), each user must acknowledge their personal responsibility for the compliance and upkeep of their personal webpage. Users provide this acknowledgement through the designated Microsoft Forms process.

Scope

This acknowledgement applies to all faculty, staff, and students who create and manage personal webpages on the University of Texas at Dallas network or using its resources.

Content Responsibility

By publishing or maintaining a personal webpage, users acknowledge that they are solely responsible for all content they post. This includes ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant. Users further acknowledge that they must not publish content that is illegal, offensive, or in violation of University of Texas at Dallas policies, including but not limited to those concerning harassment, discrimination, and intellectual property.

Accessibility

By publishing or maintaining a personal webpage, users acknowledge that they are solely responsible for all content they post. Users acknowledge their obligation to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and university policies when creating and maintaining their personal webpages. The University of Texas at Dallas reserves the right to review and remove content that violates these requirements.

Accountability

Users acknowledge that they are accountable for any consequences resulting from the content they publish. Users should regularly review and update their webpages to ensure ongoing compliance with these responsibilities.

Enforcement

Failure to uphold the responsibilities acknowledged in this document may result in the removal of the personal webpage.
