Non-Smartphone Options for Duo Authentication

Purpose 

This article provides the instructions to log in without Duo app installed or having no access to a smartphone. 

Solution

Phone Call

  • You can use your phone to authenticate with Duo. Follow this article if you have not enrolled in Duo.
  • Once you have enrolled in Duo and set up your device, on the authentication screen, select Call Me.

  • Duo will then call you and provide instructions to verify your account so you can authenticate.

Text (SMS)

  • You can use text message to authenticate with Duo. On the authentication screen, select Enter a Passcode.
  • If you do not have a code already, click Text me new codes in the blue banner. Duo will then send 10 one-use codes to your phone.

  • Enter one of those codes in the passcode field and select Log In
