Error Adding Shared Mailbox: "The Name Cannot Be Matched to a Name in the Address Book."

Explanation

The error message "The name cannot be resolved. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address book." may appear when attempting to add a shared mailbox in the Microsoft Outlook desktop application.

Microsoft Outlook Error Message: "The name cannot be resolved. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address book."

Procedure 

  1. Navigate to the Microsoft Outlook service in Atlas.
  2. Submit a Service Request under "General Help/Request".
  3. Note the shared mailbox you are attempting to access and any other errors that appear.
  4. If possible, include screenshots of the error.
  5. Press Request.

Our technical teams will have to change the email configuration to resolve this issue. You may access the shared calendar in the Microsoft Outlook web app as a work around.
