Issue
Outlook does not allow you to log in with your new password or is repeatedly prompting you to enter your password.
Detailed Resolution
Clear Credentials
- Close Outlook.
- Search for and open an application called Credential Manager.

- Go to the Windows Credentials tab. Depending on the software you have installed, the number of items here can vary greatly.

- Find all the items that mention Office, Outlook, OneDrive, or any application associated with Microsoft.
Example: ![Screenshot of items in Credential Manager that mention Office](https://atlas.utdallas.edu/TDPortal/Images/Viewer?fileName=91422ec6-5767-47b4-9baa-d2899d1bd174.jpeg)
- For all the items that mention the above criteria, click the drop-down arrow next to the items and click Remove.
- These are saved passwords. Think of this like clearing saved passwords in a web browser.

- Reopen Outlook. Now that it no longer has any saved credentials to try to log in with, it should prompt you to log in again.
- This time, it should accept your new password.
Additional Troubleshooting
- If it still does not accept your password, try logging into Galaxy.
- If you cannot log into Galaxy, you may need to reset your password again.
- Keep in mind that it can take up to 30 minutes after setting a new password before the email server will recognize it.
- If you can log in everywhere else and only the Outlook application is repeatedly asking for password, try creating a new Outlook profile with these instructions.
