The Military and Veteran Center Emergency Aid fund was established to help military-affiliated students with urgent unanticipated expenses. Foreseeable expenses, such as routine car maintenance, relocation-related costs, and/or tuition expenses would not qualify. Please reach out to the Military and Veteran Center if you are unsure whether your expense would qualify. Supporting documentation demonstrating need must be submitted along with your application. Additionally, proof of payment of the emergency expense must be provided 60 days from receipt of notice that you have been awarded the emergency aid.
This endowment was created by UTD Professor Don Hicks and his wife Sherry, to honor the memory of Don's father, Pfc. Donald E. Hicks. Pfc. Hicks served in the U.S. Army during World War I, receiving the Bronze Star for meritorious service at just nineteen years of age. Full-time degree-seeking student veterans are eligible to apply. Applicants must be in good standing with the university and have received an honorable discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces. Community service, leadership, work experience, and financial need will all be considered.
Student Affairs Technology Support Department (SATS) provides IT services for Student Affairs staff focusing on operational efficiency, expanded support and continuity. The team manages devices, technology deployment and lifecycle strategies, including proactive replacement of outdated systems to ensure consistent performance and reliability.
Student Emergency Financial Assistance fund was established to help students with unanticipated expenses. A Student Emergency Financial Assistance need is defined as an unforeseen, short term issue that requires financial resources to solve, and, if not addressed, could prohibit a student from remaining enrolled and persisting toward graduation at UT Dallas.
