Creating a Microsoft Bookings Calendar


This article provides the instructions to create a new booking calendar for the first time. Bookings are only available for faculty and staff.


  • Log in to Bookings.
  • On the initial welcome page, select Get it now.

  • Choose Create new calendar.

  • Enter the name of your Bookings Calendar.
    • OIT recommends and requests that you include the word "Bookings" in the name of your calendar for easier management.
  • You can leave the Business type field blank and click Continue, as shown below.

  • You can add team members from your organization by using the search function and assign a "Team member" or "Administrator" role in the Bookings.

  • Edit the service by entering the meeting name, duration, days of the week the service will be available, and time.
  • Check if it is an online teams meeting, select Update Service.

  • Set permissions on who can see the bookings page, check availability, and make an appointment. Select Create Calendar.
  • OIT recommends selecting the option to require login if all the people who would be booking appointments belong to the UTD community.

  • Your Bookings calendar is now set up! You are now at the Bookings settings page.
