What is Teams Voice?

Explanation

  • Teams Voice is part of Microsoft Teams. It replaced the traditional VOIP phone system that was in use on the UTD Campus.
  • Teams Voice allows users to be mobile and access calling functionality from mobile devices, computers, desk phones, and the web. Teams Voice users will be able to use the UTD phone numbers they have to make and receive calls whether they are on campus, working remotely, or on the go.
  • Having this functionality makes collaboration and communication unified all in one platform. Being freed from having to be at a traditional desk phone gives users flexibility while maintaining professional communications channels.
     
Note: With Teams Voice for our Telephony solution at UTD, we use to 10-digit dialing. No digit is required to make an external call.
