Steps
Schedule a Teams meeting and
Join the meeting
.
Once you have joined your meeting, click on the
Apps icon
on the top of the meeting window.
You may see the app available the moment that you click the apps button or if you don’t see it, go to the search bar and type in "Custom".
You then should see, and app called "Custom Streaming" show up.
Click on the
App icon
and then click
Add
.
Click
Save
on the welcome message.
Now that the app has been added to the meeting you can start the process of getting ready to live stream.
You should see a panel on the right side of the teams meeting window, in that panel you will see a "Stream URL" box and a "Stream key" box. We will get the info for those fields on our third-party streaming site.
For this example, we are going to use YouTube, but the process should be the same for other platforms.
Go to
YouTube
and sign into the profile you use for content sharing. Go to
YouTube studio
and setup a
Live stream
.
Note:
In order to stream on YouTube, you will need your phone number linked to your account. If you are linking your phone number today, you will need to wait 24 hours from the time you linked it before you can livestream.
Once you’re on the "Live stream" page you will then see the two fields that you need to start streaming the teams meeting, the
Stream URL
and the
Stream key
.
Back in the Teams meeting, add the information that we just gathered from your
YouTube side
.
Once the information has been entered you should then see the
Start streaming button
popup. Click on button.
A confirmation message will popup, click
Allow
.
It will usually take a few seconds for it to show up on the third-party site but once it does your good to
Go live
!
