UT Dallas IT Project Management model is based on TAC 216 requirements. UTD utilizes Team Dynamix Project Portfolio Management Suite to holistically track IT investments and projects. In addition, the department's leadership team meets twice a month to review new project requests and the status of all active projects.

Each active project requires a

2. Business Case (justification for undertaking the project by evaluating benefits, costs, and risks to support decision-making)
3. Complexity Assessment (facilitate prioritization based on need)

The project management controls, templates and workflows were developed by UTD Business Operations Services to meet Texas State TAC 216 Compliance requirements for project governance, assessment and reporting.
